Flower Types, Colors and Availability

Often times brides will call or email me just to get some ideas for a starting point when it comes to flowers. There are so many different varieties of flowers it can be over whelming to some brides. Some things to think about are shape, texture, color and what is available when.

We have fun tools in the studio to help during the consultation, I'm so excited John Henry just came out with a iPad app that lets you browse flowers by color, then tells you when they are available.  Its a great tool for the bride and I to use during a consultation, but some brides want to look and have an idea before the consultation.

I found this collaborated chart I wanted to share, I thought it could be helpful for brides.

Another great tool to use is California Cut Flower Commission website. It has a great list of flowers that are available in each month. Under the seasonal availability tab you can select the month you are getting married in and it displays the flower available.  Both are great starting points for brides to get a jump start on planning.   Enjoy!!
