FAQ When Choosing a Professional Wedding Florist

When deciding on a professional florist, here are some FAQ that we receive a lot, and every bride should ask before hiring a florist.

Will you personally be there on the day of my wedding?

We take pride in personally being intimately involved with every step of the process, from the consultation to design and delivery. We think it is important that the same person that meets with the bride and understands their vision for their wedding day is the same person making the arrangements and delivering them, assuring everything is set up as discussed.

How many weddings do you service in one weekend?
We try and limit ourselves to only taking one wedding a weekend, that allows us to give that wedding our undivided attention.

Do you have a portfolio of your recent work that I can review?
You can browse through our portfolio at fdellit.com

Do you have any formal florist training or certifications?
I attended the Floral Design Institute in Portland, OR in 2005,  and have been working in the floral industry since. We also attend floral seminars quite often to stay current on the new design tricks and styles.

Are references available?
References are available upon request.

Have you ever decorated at my venue before?
We have seen many wedding venues, but often times we like to do a walk through of the venue with the bride.

Is there a down payment to reserve your services?
A non refundable deposit of 30% is due on signing of the contract. That secures the date. Because we limit the number of weddings we take in a weekend, it is important to secure the date as soon as possible. We will provide you with a written proposal of the products and services outlined once the deposit is made.

When is the remaining balance due?
Final payment must be made no later than 14 days prior to event.

Are you willing to coordinate with my other wedding vendors?
We prefer to coordinate with the other wedding vendors we will be working with.  We will ask you for their contact information if it is available.

Do you provide a tossing bouquet?
We do provide a toss bouquet free of charge!!

How many hours before my ceremony will my flowers be arranged?
This varies wedding to wedding but most of the times the flowers will be arranged the day before the wedding to ensure everything looks it's best on the day of event.  The flowers are then stored in a floral cooler until delivery.

When will my flowers arrive at my venue?
We will coordinate with the bride, venue and photographer to make sure the flowers are there and set up in plenty of time before pictures and ceremony begin.

Is there a delivery fee?
There is a set up and delivery fee that will be included in your proposal.

Do you design items for "double" use?
(ex. bouquets become centerpieces)
We are more the willing to get "double" use out of arrangements.  We feel that is good way to accommodate the brides budget.

Will you take my arrangements at the end of my event?
This can be discussed but most of the time the arrangements are yours to keep at the end of the event.

How will I reach you on my wedding day?
Every bride is given our cell phone numbers so we can be reached at any time.

When do you need my final table count for centerpieces?
Final table count is due 2 weeks prior to the event, however, additions will be accepted up to 2 days prior to the wedding date.  There is not a guarantee that the same flowers will be available on orders made less then 2 weeks prior to the wedding. However, if they are not available the bride will be notified and we will match color and style as close as possible.

What are your refund/cancellation terms?
Contract cancellation must be made in writing. The deposit is nonrefundable and there are no refunds for cancellations of individual items after contract is signed.  Flowers for those items will be utilized to upgrade the arrangements purchased. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the wedding date may forfeit full payment if we have ordered the flowers and order cannot be cancelled on our end.
